Weekly Newsletter – May 9

Good Morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a good Mother’s Day. We are winding down the school year and things are getting busy! Here are some things to know for this week:

What We Are Learning:

English: We took a quiz today over pronouns and conjunctions. We are going to be learning about interjections this week.

Math: We finished up chapter 8 last week and took a test today. We will be wrapping up the year with some more multiplication, specifically 2 digit multiplication! Timed test will continue until May 20th.

Reading: This week we are focusing on wrapping up our alphabet books! We are also looking at drawing conclusions from a story and working on summaries.

Bible: Due to our chapel skit last week we did not start the story on Daniel, so we will work on that this week instead!

Spelling: We do have a test on Friday! This is one of our last ones so encourage your child to finish strong. We are focusing on the ei, eigh sound/pattern.

Science: This week we are starting our health unit! Look for a tracker in folders this week so students can see what they are eating throughout the week.

Social Studies: We will also be introducing our final social studies unit this year. We are going to be focusing on the continents and oceans.

Bible Verse and Spelling Words:

This Week’s Verse: Romans 3:23-24 – …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
