Thanksgiving Party: Our class party is next Tuesday at 2:30. All parents are welcome to join us!

Operation Christmas Child: In chapel a few weeks ago we watched a video from Samaritan’s Purse about Operation Christmas Child. Many of you have done this in the past, but for those of you who haven’t, this is an organization that seeks to provide millions of Christmas gifts for children all over the world. It is something we participate in as a school! Boxes are due this FRIDAY and we would love it if each student could put together a box! For more information visit https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/

Midterms: These will be going home next week! Please be patient with me as I update grades. Thanks!

Spirit Days: Next Monday the third grade class will be having an Ohio State Spirit Day! Come wearing your best scarlet and gray (or maize and blue if you dare). Next Tuesday our school will be having an WCS Spirit Day! Come wearing your best Wooster Christian wear. If you don’t have anything you can swing by the Spirit shop or wear red, white, and blue!

Multiplication Study Tips: I know that studying multiplication is hard. It was something I struggled with in elementary school as well. There are many different things you can do to help your student. Flashcards are always a good idea and you can make it fun by playing a game of war! There are plenty of worksheets online that are available as well. Another thing would be IXL math. Each student knows their username and password and they can pick the specific number they are studying to work on. We do this in computer as well but it is a great tool! Please remember, none of this takes the place of XtraMath during the week. I will do a blog post later this week of more ideas 🙂

Spelling Bee: Congrats to Joshua Stoner for getting fourth at the spelling bee this past weekend and Austin Hostetler for getting third! We are so proud of them!

I think that is it for this week! Have a great Monday!

Weekly Newsletter – November 7

Good Morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that you enjoyed that extra hour of sleep Saturday night. Here are a few things to know for this week:

What We Are Learning:

English: This week we are doing some writing review with paragraphs.

Bible: We have moved into the life of Jacob! This week we will be learning about Jacob’s dream and what it meant.

Math: We are starting multiplication this week! Don’t worry that feeling you have in the pit of your stomach…I have it too. But it’s going to be awesome! A letter went home last week with details about how we do multiplication so let me know if you have any questions. Starting today everyone will be moved to multiplication on XtraMath. I know it can be frustrating so please shoot me an email with any concerns and we can work out a plan. The most important thing that can be done at home is practice. PLEASE be practicing math facts at home! Thank you 🙂

Science: We are wrapping up our unit over matter this week. We had so much fun last week with different experiments! We will be having a quiz on Thursday. We will review in class and a review sheet will go home on Wednesday.

Spelling: Our test this week is on Friday, and our words will be focusing on plural nouns.

Bible Verse and Spelling Words:
