Good Morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a good Mother’s Day. We are winding down the school year and things are getting busy! Here are some things to know for this week:
What We Are Learning:
English: We took a quiz today over pronouns and conjunctions. We are going to be learning about interjections this week.
Math: We finished up chapter 8 last week and took a test today. We will be wrapping up the year with some more multiplication, specifically 2 digit multiplication! Timed test will continue until May 20th.
Reading: This week we are focusing on wrapping up our alphabet books! We are also looking at drawing conclusions from a story and working on summaries.
Bible: Due to our chapel skit last week we did not start the story on Daniel, so we will work on that this week instead!
Spelling: We do have a test on Friday! This is one of our last ones so encourage your child to finish strong. We are focusing on the ei, eigh sound/pattern.
Science: This week we are starting our health unit! Look for a tracker in folders this week so students can see what they are eating throughout the week.
Social Studies: We will also be introducing our final social studies unit this year. We are going to be focusing on the continents and oceans.
Bible Verse and Spelling Words:
This Week’s Verse: Romans 3:23-24 – …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Next Week’s Verse: Hebrews 4:16 – Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Mile Run: On Friday, the 3rd and 4th grade students will be running a mile around the building! Mrs. Johnston is looking for volunteers. A paper went home last week. Please feel free to contact her if you are willing to help. Also, make sure your student doesn’t choose that day to dress all fancy 🙂
Field Trip: Our field trip is Monday May 23rd. More specific details will be sent home next week.
Awards Chapel: The elementary awards chapel will be Tuesday May 24th. Parents are welcome to join us!
Field Day: Elementary field day is on May 25th (the last day of school). If you are willing to help please return the form Mrs. Johnston sent home last week.
Last Day of School: Please remember that we are done at 12:30 on the 25th. There is no Kids Time or Nest that day.
I think that is it! Have a great week!
