Weekly Newsletter – January 25

Good Morning! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with 2,000+ high school and middle school students at the Kalahari Retreat. It was such an amazing weekend and God did so many amazing things! Here is what you need to know this week:


What We Are Learning:

English: This week we are focusing on helping verbs. A pink sheet should be in your students take home folder for them to study. We are taking a quiz on Tuesday over the “Be” verbs and on Thursday we will take a quiz over all the helping verbs.

Math: We do have timed tests on Tuesday and Friday. We are also starting division this week!

Reading: This week we are focusing on Metaphors, Graphic Sources, and new vocabulary.

Bible: We are continuing to work our way through the life of Joseph. We are also in the New Testament now for our “What’s in the Bible?” movies.

Spelling: We do have a test on Friday, and there is spelling homework tonight.


Bible Verse and Spelling Words:

This Week’s Verse: None. SPEECH MEET IS DUE ON FRIDAY!

Next Week’s Verse: 1 John 4:13-14 – This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

Spelling Words: clock, large, page, mark, kitten, judge, crack, edge, pocket, brake, change, ridge, jacket, badge, orange, ceiling, advantage, pledge, detect, pencil. Bonus: microscopic


Odds and Ends:

Report Card Envelopes: Please get these back to me ASAP. Thanks!

Conferences: Conferences are tomorrow night for those of you who have scheduled a meeting.

Right to Read Week: This week we are celebrating Right to Read Week! We will be setting daily goals in class, and students can win prizes if they meet their goal!

Auction Basket: Please send in stuff to fill our auction basket! It’s looking a little empty right now. We are the chocolate lovers basket! This is all due January 29th.

Speech Meet: Verses, poems, and fables are due on Friday. These are for a grade! Please make sure you student is practicing.
