Weekly Newsletter – January 4

Welcome back! I hope you all had a great Christmas break, and that you got a little rest too. I know that waking up this morning was a little bit of a shock to my system 🙂 There is a lot to know for this week, so please read carefully!

What We Are Learning:

English: We are reviewing plural nouns this week and adding plural possessive nouns as well.

Math: We are continuing to push through multiplication! We have a timed test on Tuesday and on Friday. Please make sure your student is studying at home each night.

Reading: This week we are focusing on following directions, imagery, and the vocabulary that goes with our story.

Social Studies: We are working on Social Studies Community newspapers this week.

Bible: We are finishing up Jacob this week and we will be moving into the life of Joseph. We also have a verse due this week!

Spelling: We do have a spelling test this week. The words are listed below. We are also adding something new beginning this week. Each Monday we will be taking a practice spelling test. If your student gets them all right they do not have to take the test on Friday. Whatever words they get wrong they will need to write each one three times for homework Monday night and then turn it in on Tuesday. We will be taking our first practice test today, and the corrections will be due tomorrow.
