–Eagle Cards: Eagle Card packets went home on Thursday. SELL THOSE CARDS! There are some great prizes, class, school, and individual, that your student is excited about! If you have any questions about Eagle Cards feel free to contact the office. This is a great fundraiser for our school and it doesn’t hurt that the kids can win a few prizes.

–Take Home Folder: Each night your child will be bringing home their Take Home folder. Please check this nightly for any homework and make sure it gets sent back the next day. We added the homework log this week, so please make sure your are checking it. Everything should be coming out of the folder each night, EXCEPT the homework log. That always stays in the folder

-Room Mom: So far there have been no offers for a room mom. Please let me know if you are willing to partner with someone to help with our parties this year. Thanks!

-Homework Logs: All the details for the homework log are listed on the log in the take home folder and there is a sheet for how to sign up for XtraMath, which is the website we use for our math practice. Please only use this for Math…no flashcards, personal workbooks, etc. We are focusing on our math facts. Email me if you have any questions!

Welcome to Third Grade! – August 19th

Welcome to a new school year! For some of you, starting here at Wooster Christian is old news and for others this is your first year here. I hope each and every one of you had a great summer. This blog is where I will be posting our weekly newsletters and any other class information. Newsletters will be posted by 4:00 pm each Monday and if I do post any updates I will make sure to send an email or text update letting you know. (I know I am a little late this week..so sorry!)

Here is what you need to know for this week:

What We Are Learning:

-We will be spending the week getting to know each other and doing some review from last year.

*Normally in this section I would list what we are doing in each subject, because this is the beginning of the year I am keeping things simple.

Odds and Ends:

Remind 101: One of the ways that I communicate with parents quickly is through a texting program called Remind. You do not need a smartphone or the app for this. All you need to do is click on this link https://www.remind.com/join/bbac79 and enter your phone number. This makes it easy for me to quickly communicate any reminders that are important or anything I might have forgotten to mention in class that day.

Eagle Cards: Eagle Card packets will be going home on Thursday. If you have any questions about Eagle Cards feel free to contact the office. Please please please have your kids sell their Eagle Cards. This is a great fundraiser for our school and it doesn’t hurt that the kids can win a few prizes.

Kids Time and Transportation Changes: Please make sure to tell your kids what they are doing after school each day. This helps our end of the day routine immensely. If there are any changes during the day, feel free to email me or contact the office.

Take Home Folder: Each night your child will be bringing home their Take Home folder. Please check this nightly for any homework and make sure it gets sent back the next day. We will be adding a homework log to it next week.

Bible Verse and Spelling Words:

Every week we do a Bible Verse on Wednesday and a Spelling Test on Friday. Both will be listed in this section, along with the due date. This week, obviously, there is no Bible Verse or Spelling Test. However we will have both next week. When we do our Bible Verse, all I ask is that students know the reference and the verse and they will just say it to me. Spelling words will be written out.

This Week’s Bible Verse: None.

Next Week’s Bible Verse: Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Due 8/26)

Spelling Words: None.

I think that is it for this week! Sorry that this post is so long. I promise the next newsletter will be much shorter and easier to read. Thanks for all you do!
